Annual Reports
In one place, what will our impact be?
As The Neighbor Project grows, our focus is expanding. We continue to help individuals and families – but we’re beginning to look at how investing in those neighbors can change entire neighborhoods as well.
This approach is called Comprehensive Community Development, and it starts with a deliberate effort to partner more closely with residents in one particular area.
Here’s how we’re building ties in Aurora’s Greenman Elementary neighborhood so residents can inform our work more in the future.
The Plan:
Establish a resident-led leadership committee to learn neighborhood needs from those who live there and follow their lead in discovering solutions.
Plan engagement events like block parties, resource fairs and clean-up days to meet and work alongside neighbors in informal ways.
Evaluate impact over time based not just on success of individual households, but based on the goals and needs articulated by all neighborhood residents
Ready to get involved?
Become a neighborhood leader. If you live near Greenman, contact us about joining the resident leadership committee.

Support place-based outcomes by sponsoring or donating to the Neighbor Project.
Why the Greenman neighborhood? be?
Right size. The area around Greenman has fewer than 1000 households.
Defined boundaries. We’ll be able to assess impact based on clear geographical lines.
City goals. The neighborhood is strategically close to the City of Aurora’s Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NSRA).
Low homeownership. More than half of residents don’t own their homes, so the potential for change is great.
We need you.
Aurora’s greatest asset is the people who live here. Empower them - and we all prosper.
